Feminine Musique – The Life and Times of Pauline García-Viardot

Pauline Garcia-Viardot (1821-1910), of Spanish descent, was a leading nineteenth-century French mezzo-soprano, pedagogue, and composer. Her music will be performed by female music specialists Feminine Musique. Pauline’s music will be interspersed with fascinating details about her life and the lives of musicians, writers, and artists in her inner circle – Chopin, George Sand, Delacroix, Liszt, and Brahms.

Opera singers Korliss Uecker and Tammy Hensrud are known worldwide for their prolific operatic performances. They’ve also dedicated themselves to the promotion of music of women composers through  their organization, Feminine Musique. Composers Julianna Hall (Roosters and Music Like a Curve of Gold) and Stefania DeKenessy (soundtrack to the film Influence) have enjoyed their works performed by these vibrant vocalists. Uecker and Hensrud are also academics, teaching voice at Hofstra University and the Preparatory  Division of the Music Conservatory of Westchester, respectively
