2.1.1Z Envisioning America: How Artists Have Pictured the Country from the Revolution to the Social Justice Movements of the 20th Century 

We will explore distinct eras of American History including the Revolutionary period, the western Expansion, the Civil War, the World Wars, the Great Depression, and the Social Movements of the mid- to late 20th Century, as seen by such artists as Gilbert Stuart, Thomas Cole, Winslow Homer, Jacob Lawrence, and Judy Chicago.
